CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is a natural occurring, chemical compound extracted from the hemp plant. Discovered in 1940, CBD has recently gained attention from those that claim it helps them with a wide range of issues including pain, anxiety and sleep.
CBD is non-habit forming and legal in all 50 states.
On December 20, 2018, The President of the United States signed into law the 2018 Farm Bill, which:
- Defines ‘hemp’ as “the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis”.
Tetrahydrocannabinol is more commonly known as THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.
- Removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act.
In short, CBD is legal, provided it is sourced from hemp and contains less than .3 percent of THC, as defined in the 2018 Farm Bill.
You’re no doubt familiar with body systems such as the circulatory, digestive and nervous systems. However, you may not be as familiar with the Endocannabinoid System.
Discovered in the late 1990s, the Endocannabinoid System (or ECS for short), plays a role in keeping our body in a ‘balanced’ state when it encounters environmental changes. Endocannabinoid receptors, which make up the ECS, are located throughout our bodies, with concentrations in the brain and the immune system.
When a person takes CBD, it interacts and binds with these receptors. Research shows that this interaction may help improve your ECS.
The whole plant is used in the manufacturing of Full Spectrum CBD. You will be getting multiple benefits because this process is full of terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids and fatty acids from the whole hemp plant. All of these have a wellness value of their own. Full Spectrum CBD helps create what’s known as the Entourage Effect. It is believed that all of these compounds work together providing a synergistic effect (a stronger effect than one component alone).
Terpenes are naturally occurring, organic compounds found in the essential oils of plants and their flowers that contribute to their unique scent and flavor. Aromatherapy, the therapeutic use of plant extracts and essential oils, is based on the use of terpenes.
The terpenes found in industrial hemp are non-psychoactive and may have medical benefits, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that CBD and terpene compounds extracted from industrial hemp provide increased health benefits when used together than when used individually.
CBG is short for cannabigerol. It can be cultivated to be higher in the hemp plant which increases its benefits. CBG has many potential health properties such as antioxidants, aiding with skin problems, can stimulate appetite, and also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It can also help with inflammation and lowering intraocular pressure.
CBN is also a cannabinoid. It is believed to be that part of the hemp plant that has a sedative affect. Studies have shown it effective for sleep, has anti-inflammatory qualities and can help to relieve pain.
Because of factors such as body weight & size, severity of conditions, CBD potency and dosing varies from person to person. Follow each brand’s directions and adjust as necessary. Some people benefit from a combination of CBD products.
- Vaping is the quickest way to absorb CBD into your system.
- Tinctures placed under the tongue for the brand’s recommended time.
- Edibles can take up to 2 hours to feel relief.
We sell only high quality CBD products made from hemp grown in the USA with certified lab results from the manufacturer. These lab results can be viewed with each product directly on our site.
The CO2 Process is used in extracting CBD for the products we sell, which is the cleanest extraction process. Other processes can include the use of harmful chemicals and solvents.
